Kristina E. Raspe was appointed vice president for real estate development and asset management in July 2011, having previously served as associate senior vice president for real estate and asset management since November 2006.
Raspe is responsible for the oversight and management of all off-campus and developer-delivered real estate development and construction projects, encompassing project structure, programming, entitlements, site selection, preliminary design, client interface, establishment of preliminary budgets and schedules, architect selection, and board of trustee approvals. She also oversees all campus planning activities, including the master-planning processes on both the University Park and Health Sciences campuses, entitlements related to the university’s development activities, and work associated with USC’s plans to develop a biomedical research park on the Health Sciences campus. In addition, she is responsible for the acquisition and disposition of all university-owned property, negotiation and management of all university leases, and management of all tenant-occupied properties owned by the university.
Raspe’s department oversees real estate lending and subsidies to university faculty and staff, property tax payments, exemptions and appeals, and the management of title to university automobiles and seafaring vessels. She and her staff also work with the offices of planned giving and restricted fund accounting to document the acceptance of gifts to the university and to manage the disposition of all gifted real estate and gifts-in-kind.
Prior to joining USC, Raspe served as general counsel and senior vice president for Doheny Enterprises, LLC, a real estate investment firm. Previously, she was a partner specializing in real estate and land use law at Troy & Gould, and a senior associate at Alschuler, Grossman & Pines, LLP.
Raspe currently serves as president of the board of directors of the Design-Build Institute of America – Western Pacific Region, as a member of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation’s Infrastructure Subcommittee and as a member of the board of directors of the Los Angeles Headquarters Association.
Raspe holds master’s degrees in both construction management and real estate development from USC, as well as a juris doctorate from Loyola Law School. She received her bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is a licensed broker and member of the California Board of Realtors.
