Associate General Counsel, Health Sciences
Lil Delcampo joined USC’s Health Sciences Legal Team in October 2009 and became Associate General Counsel for Health Sciences in November 2013. In that role, Ms. Delcampo provides, and supervises the health sciences attorneys providing, legal support to the university’s health system, known as Keck Medicine of USC, including, Keck Medical Center of USC, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and USC Care Medical Group.
Prior to joining USC, Ms. Delcampo spent two years developing her own health law practice, and serving as general counsel for health service companies in Southern California. Before starting her own firm, Ms. Delcampo served as senior counsel with Hooper, Lundy & Bookman for six years where she counseled clients on regulatory matters, HIPAA, privacy and informed consent issues and litigated complex managed care cases. Ms. Delcampo is also the co-author of two chapters in health care treatises, “Providers v. Payors: Common Legal Disputes in Managed Care;” Managed Care Litigation, BNA (2005), and “The FDA Approval Process for New Drugs;” Pharmaceutical Law, BNA (2007).
Ms. Delcampo graduated from Drake University in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication and in 1997 she earned her J.D. from University of California, Los Angeles. She is admitted to practice law in California and Hawaii.
